attention to what makes you happier. I have learned to deal with having a stammer in part by deciding to have realistic expectations about myself and my fluency, by designing my defaults and commitments in ways that force me to confront my speech problems, and by doing activities that stop my mind from wandering to exaggerated fears about my speech and other people’s reactions to it.
